Buying a home can be informational overload. While it’s important to keep your needs and wants straight, it can be hard to keep properties straight. It might seem like there is such a thing as too many viewings, but when it comes down to finding the perfect home with your Bend Oregon Realtor, you need to look until you find the perfect one. Here are some tips on how many viewings are average.
Most people, when house hunting, look at an average of 8-10 homes. While this is a good number to know, it’s important to keep in mind, that you may only need to look at one, or you may need to look at 20. There is no right number, it’s entirely up to you.
What you want
While it can be hard to keep homes straight, it’s important for you to keep your most wanted features in order. While you may look at a lot of houses that have the majority of what you want, it may be hard to find one that has everything you want. It’s important to know before you start looking, what is negotiable, and what you absolutely have to have in a home. That way you’ll know whether or not it’s worth your time to look at a property.
Talk to your Bend Realtor about the features you want most in a home, and keep track of your priorities when hunting. It’s easy to get side tracked by new features, and additions that you never knew you needed. But when it’s all said and done, if it’s 40 minutes farther from work, or doesn’t have enough bedrooms, it’s not going to be the best home for you.
Ask to see the homes that you like again. You’ll know which homes you’re interested in seeing again after a few sessions of looking. When you’ve narrowed it down to one or two, ask to see them again. Don’t wait too long, in certain markets properties won’t stay available long, especially here in Central Oregon. Don’t lose out on the perfect property because you waited. Be assertive about the properties you like most.
