Central Oregon Symphony

Founded in 1967 as part of the expanding Central Oregon Community College Fine Arts Department, the Central Oregon Symphony Orchestra is a major player in the local fine arts scene presenting full symphonic and chamber music performances. Autumn, winter and spring concerts take place in the 1,400-seat Bend High School auditorium. Michael Gesme has been musical director and conductor since 1996. Season tickets accompany membership in the Central Oregon Symphony Assn. Some complimentary tickets are made available.

2nd Street Theater

The 2nd Street Theater was founded in 2001 as a private repertory company staging musical and dramatic productions. It is now operated by Stage Right Productions, a newly-formed non profit organization dedicated to providing artists with a venue and resources to pursue their creative endeavors. The intimate theater seats between 93 and 100 people. Plays suitable for a larger audience are produced at the Tower Theatre. Eight Mainstage Productions are on the 2015 schedule and an outdoor production of Macbeth will be staged at non-theatrical venues later in the year.

Cascades Theater

The volunteer-based Cascades Theater Company, founded in 1978, scheduled seven theatrical productions in 2015 representing a balance of genres (i.e. comedy, mystery/thriller, holiday theme, musical, etc.) CTS’s NightVisions series presents musical, comedy and storytelling performances. Limited runs take place at locations other than the main playhouse.
