A native of Gresham, Ore., Melody has been a licensed Broker with The Garner Group since June 2009. She first obtained her Oregon real estate license in 2007 while living in the Portland area. Her sales performance placed her among the top 100 Central Oregon real estate agents in 2015.
Melody is certified by the National Assn. of Realtors as an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES). These designations come through advanced course work. ABR accreditation focuses on understanding home buyers’ needs and how to best serve them, providing specialized information and resources. The SRES designation educates Realtors on how to profitably and ethically serve the needs of clients aged 50 and above.
Melody has also completed advanced training in the field of green building practices. The National Assn. of Realtors GREEN designation was awarded following a three-day course dealing with fundamentals of green building practices, consumer awareness and marketing green homes. Training for the Earth Advantage Broker designation (formerly STAR–Sustainability Training for Accredited Real Estate Professionals) included classroom work, site visits and testing. Brokers are able to identify home features and building products that provide greater energy, water and resource efficiency and create a healthier living environment for their clients.
